Army needs 2 weeks off
The Army dropped to 2-4-1 on the year after getting drubbed by Acme 6-2. The Army was upset at league commissioner, Baron Purcell. At the last moment the Schedule was switched. The Army was to play Gerrell's. But at 2:30 the league switched the schedule. "I had watch film on Gerrell's all week. We had worked on the neutral zone trap to stop them" Said coach Paukert. Paukert continued. "We didn't have time to review film on such a short notice. We also couldn't change our line-up. We needed to go with our bigger lineup to stop acme." Steve Olson quipped, "We have a bigger lineup? We barely had enough room on the bench and we were 3 guys short." GM Kevin Kyle said that a formal protest has been made to the league. "We are hoping that by us not having time to prepare the league will compensate us." Perry Marto added, "A couple cases of Busch Light is all it will take." The Army is off for the next 2 weeks and will be back in action on January 8. Thank God to that! Merry Christmas!

Last one before the X-mas break
The Red Army faces Gerrell's tonight at 7:45 at the Grand Forks Blue Line Arena. This Arena is made for the Army. With it being smaller and slower ice, it plays into the strength of the Army's shut down game. Bill Knipe said, "I thrive in this rink. The smaller dimensions allows me to utilize all of the facets of my game. My skill will shine tonight." Lance Norman concurred, "You don't have to skate as much, so we can take a longer shift. I expect 2 or 3 goals from me tonight!" The Army should be a full strength tonight. Illness took its toll on the depth last week. Coach Paukert said, "It will be good to have Schumacher back. We just didn't have the cohesion that we usually have. Also he is good for comic relief." Steve Palmiscno added, "And if Schumacher passes to the other team, the small rink means we don't have far to go to the center ice face-off dot after a goal." Call 1-800-REDARMY for your tickets soon. This game is excpected to be a sellout!

Late one tonight
The 2-3 Red Army faces off against The Boadwalk/Kelly's tonight at 8:30 at the Purpur Arena. The Boardwalk dominated the Army earlier this year, so how will the Army rebound? "Make sure the beer is cold in the locker room," said Len Boucher. "We are into moral victories at our stage of our careers," added Steve Knipe. Coach Terry Paukert had a different take on the game. "We need to be better, we can win this game. I will be threatening them with an outdoor practice if we don't perform." Then the old man woke up from his dream. Plenty of tickets remain for this game. Call 1-800-REDARMY for best available.

Army gets shut out!
The Red Army was shut out last night 3-0 by Caulfield's. The Army waited until at least the first minute of the game to go down 1-0. Last week it took all of 13 seconds. But the Army toughened up the defense. Down 2-0 after one, the Army dominated play in the second period. Only to be turned back time after time. The Army's best chance happened when Todd Palmiscno missed a wide open net. Palmiscno said, "I panicked. I have never had that wide open of a shot. I felt like Lance Norman!" Caulfield's made it 3-0 early in the 3rd to deflate the Army. The Army tried to break the shutout, but just couldn't hit the net in the 3rd. Perry Marto quipped, "We had enough shots today, we just need to bury them. I think we shot our wad last week scoring 8 goals." Steve Olson added, "The pace of the game was too fast. Playing in this icebox, the ice was too fast. We are better if the ice is warm and our skates can melt into the ice. The other teams can't handle it. We thrive in that ice condition!" The loss drops the Army to 1-4 on the year.

Dress Warm
The Red Army (1-2)takes on Caulfield's tonight at 7:45 at the the "Ice Box" known as the EGFBLC Arena. The Army is coming off an 8-4 drubbing of the Buschwackers. The Army hasn't scored that many goals in a game since the Clinton Administration. The Army will need to keep up the offense tonight if they expect to stay with the high powered Caulfield's club. Coach Terry Paukert said, "We could score 6, but with our luck we will give up 7, Schumacher will be back in the line-up." Plenty of tickets remain for tonight's game.

Not Good!
The Army is in mid-season form. Tallying another disappointing loss, 5-1 to the hands of BBI/Broken Drum. For the 3rd straight game, a different goalie. The Army is struggling finding a consistent net minder. "I can't believe we can't get goalie," said Perry Marto. Marto continued, "It should be easy to find a goalie that is expected to make 50-60 saves a night. Goalies want shots, we give them plenty." Marto was also the hero of the night, netting the Army's only goal with under 20 second left. Marto was feed like a baby from Todd Palmiscno. Yes that Todd Palmiscno that consistently give the puck away to the other team. Oh, by the way Todd Schumacher's turnover in the first 20 seconds of the game ended in the net. The big concern for the Army is when is Division 1, Steve Palmiscno going to get going. Bill Knipe said, "He has been a cupcake this year. He needs to work hard like I do." The loss dropped the Army to 1-2 on the year. Most Likely the closest they will be to the .500 mark on the season!

Army Back in Action
The 1-1 Red Army is back on the rick tonight against BBI. This mammoth tilt starts at 7:00 and is being played at the Gambucci Arena. The Army is hoping to be at full strength tonight. The Army was down 5 regulars last week. So fans have your fingers crossed on that front! Questions abound for tonight's game. Most importantly, who has the beer for tonight! But team wise: Will Swenny have his skate fixed, will the Knipes take off work to play. Did someone tell Anderson the game is cancelled. Will McMillan come out of retirement or just bring beer. How many minuses will Schumacher and Palmiscno have. Most importantly, will Lenny remember the water bottles. These questions and many more will be answered tonight! Call 1-800-REDARMY for best available ticket!

Short-handed Army gets spanked!
The Red Army was missing 4 players last night and it showed. The Army got demolished 7-3 to a much faster Kelly's team. The Army only had 3 defensemen, 2 of which were Todd Palmiscno and Todd Schumacher. "So in reality we had one blue-liner tonight," said a tired goaltender, Eric Melland. Melland finished with 14 saves. All came when Schumacher a Palmiscno were not pair together. Only goals were scored with those 2 on the ice. On the bright side, Lance Norman scored. Norman has had 102 shots on net this year. "My scoring percentage is a little low (.98%), but at least I scored," said a confident Norman. Len Boucher added, "I didn't think he could put it in the ocean from a small boat!" The loss drops the Army to 1-1. It may be the last time the Army is at or above the .500 mark this year. So fans, you need to show up next week. Because it is sure to get uglier as the year progresses.

Late one tonight!
The Huff-n-Puff league is in disarray. The Commissioners are wondering why the Red Army is playing at 9:45. CEO of the League, Chad Hanson, said, "The Army consistently draws the biggest crowds and sell the most jerseys. The are our cash cow. We will be having the FBI do an investigation!" It is also a big day as Steve Palmicsno will celebrate his 53 birthday with a ceremony before the game. Anyone coming to the game will get a free 6-pack of Yuengling straight from Pittsburgh!. Palmiscno said, "I only have 2 6-packs so I hope no one show." The recap of the game tomorrow. With the late start, the story may have to wait until tomorrows late edition.

Huge Win
It looked grim for the Army last night as they fell behind 3-1 to OOB after one period. But without McMillan, both Palmos and Eric Melland, the Army stormed back to win 5-4. "We should have won the game 5-1 if Schumacher would have showed up for the first period. Do you know that he was -2 for the period," ranted Steve Olson. Back-up goalie Chris Decker was shaky in the first but settled down to make 5 save in the last 2 periods. "I'm just here to help the team," said Decker. Decker continued, "I just wished that Steve Palmiscno was here to see how a goalie can play!" The Army needed a late goal from Lance Norman to break the 4-4 tie. Mike Anderson thought he had scored the goal, but video replay clearly showed that Norman got the deflection. Unbelievably the Army is 1-0 on the season.

Season Opener
The Red Army starts a new season tonight with questions abound. The Army takes on OOB tonight at 7pm at the Gambucci Arena. "Who the hell is OOB," pondered Steve Olson. The questions that need to be answered are these. How will the Army do after the surprise retirement of Shawn McMillan. How will his replacement, Wade Anderson do? Will coach Paukert split up the defensive pairing of Todd Palmiscno and Todd Schumacher. Will Perry Marto get his weight back to 195. Will Steve Olson ever see his feet again. Will Bill Knipe back check. Will Lenny Boucher wash his uniform? Will Chad Swendseid find his own zone? How many saves will Eric Melland have. "Zero," said Steve Palmiscno. These are just a few of the questions that the Army needs to answer. This reporter knows that it doesn't matter. The Army will most likely go 4-14-2 on the season. So why try to answer. Come and watch and laugh your ass off at these old guys. You will fins out that your day can't be that bad!

Same Old Army
The Army began the exhibition season with, surprise, another loss. The Army was beaten 4-2 to the Buschwackers. The Army as usual, couldn't hold a 2-1 lead after 2 periods. "When do we play Schumacher in the 3rd period. He was minus 3 in the final frame," said a disgusted Bill Knipe. "It wasn't all Schumacher's fault, Melland needs to make 4 stops," said Steve Palmiscno. The Army is trying to figure out how to play without Shawn McMillan. McMillan has retired after 20some years with the Army. McMillan said, "I wanted to retire when still in my prime. I want to be like Barry Sanders, Kevin Kyle and Olga Korbut. I don't want to be like Marto and have my career on the severe decline." "Good for Shawn, but he could have taken Schumacher and Todd Palmiscno with him," said Kurt Comeau! The regular season starts next week. God help this team!

Huge Win
Now before we get into last nights epic battle, I thought I would answer a question many fans have asked throughout the year. "What do you guys do in the locker room before and after the game? Now, of course, there's always beer. Not everybody drinks before the game but most certainly indulge afterwards. But while everybody is dressing we like to b.s. and give each other compliments like, "Hey Schuey, I heard you gave a great lesson on single cell organisms. Nice work." Or "Hey Lenny, how do you keep the buses so clean this time of year? They sparkle." Or "Hey Kurt, I like the location of the light fixtures you wired and thanks for picking up after yourself." Or "Geez Billy, are you sure you can play tonight? It looks like you really worked hard today." Just small talk along those lines. After the game you hear things such as "It's too bad M. Anderson or Marto couldn't play tonight, we sure could've used them." Or "I'll take one" referring to the beer. Or "Time to go. Beer's gone." I hope that answers the fans questions. Now for last nights game. I said earlier that a wise man once said you are only as good as your last game. Well fans, The Army won an injury filled blood soaked battle 4-3 defeating Baron's. Coach Pauk came to the rink with nothing but positive thinking and vibes that got the boys going but after the he was quoted as saying "We absolutely terrorized their goalie tonight. Way to go boys!" Baron's started the game with flurry after flurry but Army goalie Eric Melland came up with some unbelievable saves to give The Army a chance. "Routine" is all he said. Wade Anderson kept up his torrid pace of goal scoring by firing 2 past Barons goalie. "I was brought here to score and back check, I got one of them right" he said. Scoring the other goals for The Army were Steve Knipe and Todd Schumacher. Shuey's goal would end up being the game winner. He took a back door feed and went bar down (yeah.. that's what we'll call it). Other happenings was Lenny mixing it up when The Army was down and firing up the team and Lance Norman taking a vicious hit on the end wall to make a play. "I think my ribcage is split in two. I can't even drink a beer". Nothing happened on the play so the injury was for not but management took note of his play and will for sure get a new contract. The Army figured to get a little more out of the Palmo brothers as a new pope has now been picked. "I tried to keep my mind on the game but all I could think of is white billowing smoke coming out of the chimney" said Todd. Steve Palmo chimed in with, "I need to hurry up get undressed and get to church." Swenny said his hammy felt fine and that he was just lucky he had McMillan as his defensive partner or things would've been worse. The Army was playing for contracts and all that will be decided in days to come. In other transaction news, McMillan has officially retired, effective immediately. "I love the game, but the game isnt loving me back. I'm just going to show up and drink their beer." was all he said. The Red Army Banquet will be in 3 weeks in Vegas. Invitation Only!

Army wins finale
The Army defeated the Buschwackers last night 4-3. The win propelled the Army to 5-11-2 record. More on the game when Reporter Shawn McMillan finishes his article and all interviews.

Season's DONE
Finally the last game of the season is upon us. Army fans and players can rejoice. The Army takes on their heated rival, The Buschwackers at 7:15 at the Purpur Arena. "Four wins, five wins, who cares, tonight is the last one, thank God," said Lance Norman. Even the Wackers have the same sentiment. Keith Anderson said, "We tried to get Baron to end the year 2 weeks ago. That is when he stopped playing. Even though he is dressed, he hasn't done anything for last couple of games." There really is no drama for tonight's game. As Todd Schumacher has already scored to extend his goal scoring streak to 26 straight years with at least one goal. Wacker Jerry Lundby said. " We are glad Schumacher has scored. If all Schumacher was just planning on playing offense, we would be in trouble." The biggest thing is that Wade Anderson and Chad Swendseid have beer tonight!

Army drubbed
The Army dropped another game last night to Caulfield's 5-2 in Huff-n-Puff action. The Army's record is now 4-11-2 with ONE week left. "Finally the season will be over," said Perry Marto. The Army was good for 2 periods but just wore out in the third. "The long season has put a toll on the Army this year with injuries," said coach Terry Paukert. Paukert continued, "And it doesn't help when Schumacher is the other teams best player!" When asked about his performance, Schumacher said, "the coach is right, but at least the Green Wave won last night."
Wednesday, March 6, 2013
Only 2 weeks left
Fans, there is only 2 weeks left to watch the Red Army. Tonight they take on Caulfield's at 7:00 at the Eagles Arena. The game will be done by 8:00 and it will give you plenty of time to get home to watch the Green Wave Take on Rochester Lourdes. Free Admission tonight. That is all!

Army upsets #1 Kelly's
The Army stunned Kelly's last night 8-5. "This is a bigger upset than Penn State beat #4 Michigan," said Coach Terry Paukert. Coach Paukert made a great move in making Steve Palmiscno a healthy scratch and inserting rookie Wade Anderson. Anderson had the hat trick for the Army. Anderson humbly said, "I'm just here to help the team win." Lance Norman chimed in, "I think it was better that Perry Marto didn't play. He claims to be injured. #15 hot wings at the Cay isn't an injury." Norman was also a star with a couple of goals. Jade Gilberton of Kelly's (also a healthy scratch) said, "Normy and I had a couple of late night practice session. We got down hard on each other to make ourselves better." Shawn McMillan answered, "That is just wrong." Bill Knipe had a huge game and received praise from Kelly's Tim Loven, "I never realize how good Bill is. I've seen him wheel a hammer and it isn't good. At least he has hockey to fall back on if his construction career stalls."

3-11-2 or 4-10-2, your pick?
The Army plays against Kelly's tonight at 9:00 at the Grand Forks Blue Line Arena. With the late start, most of the Army players will have to take a nap. "Half of us are AARP members. 9:00 is late. We are looking into age discrimination with our lawyers," said a frustrated coach, Terry Paukert. "Maybe the right guys won't show up and we will have a chance to win," said Perry Marto. There have been zero tickets sold in advance of the game tonight. So no need to call.

Another Stinker!
Ok fans, the Army losses again. BBI beats the Army 3-2. The loss drops the Army to 3-10-2. The Army just sucked tonight. Shawn McMillan and Steve Palmiscno scored for the Army. That may have been the only bright spot. The Army brought up two players from the farm system to see if that would propel the Army to a victory. Wade Anderson and Cam Olson proved that they are in the minors for a reason. "They aren't even close to play at this level", said Steve Olson. "I know Cam is my son, but he needs to go back to Siberia and get better." Shawn McMillan said," Anderson might be a good painter but he needs a lot of help on his hockey playing. Remember Schumacher coached him, he has a lot of improving to do." Schumacher quipped, "McMillan is right, he never listened to me. He should be better." The biggest question the Army has is, when is the season done. "Baron should end the season now," said a disappointed Steve Knipe. Kurt Comeau added, "The season should only be 10 weeks long, we would be much better then."
Wednesday, February 20, 2013
Game Time is 7:15
The 3-9-2 Army plays against BBI tonight at the Purpur Arena. Plenty of tickets are available for tonight's game. With the Army now mathematically eliminated from the play-offs, the throng of fans just will not show up. The Army may have a tough time getting motivated for the game without many fans. Shawn McMillan had another take on the situation, "I'm playing for my contract. I will demand the highest ever Army salary." Bill Knipe snapped back, "What have you been playing for the last 14 games. You deserve 3 rolls of used tape for a contract now." Perry Marto said, "McMillan has always said, 'jump on my back, I got you guys', let's see if he can EVER do it." Call 1-800-REDARMY for tickets.

Army drops to 3-9-2
The Army fans are disappointed again as they were dismantled 5-2 last night against Caulfield's. The shorthanded Army was wore down throughout the night. The Army only trailed 2-1 after 2 periods. But, with only 3 defensemen, the Army just could get the puck out of their zone. Erik Melland made numerous outstanding saves. "It is about time our goalie played well. 70 saves tonight was pretty good," said Lance Norman. Steve Olson chimed in, "If I was our goalie I would have scored on my self then flipped off Coach Pauk and then left the ice." Coach Pauk said," I wanted to flip of the team and leave after we were down 1-0 after the first shift. The players don't have to watch this crap."
Wednesday, February 13, 2013
Another Late one
Army fans on your feet!! Huge game tonight vs Caulfields at 8:15. Game is at the Gambucci Arena. With the late start time, Coach Terry "10 o'clock" Pauk has order mandatory naps for the team at 2:00. "I'm hoping the team can stay up that late," said The Pauk. (Oh by the way Coach Pauk was inducted into the Grand Forks Central Athletic Hall of Fame. It is for coaching, not playing for the Army. Hard to believe. Congrats Pauk) "The only person that needs a nap is the coach," said Len Boucher. The team was very upbeat at practice yesterday except for Chad Swendseid. When ask Sweeny answered, "I'm just upset that wrestling is going to be dropped for the Olympics. Where else can you watch 2 men rub their bodies up against each other without getting arrested. It is just beautiful." "Swenny you need help," screamed Shawn McMillan. Though Steve Olson agreed with Swenny. But would let the Red Army News Quote him. But he was later seen walking into Fantasies. Hopefully there will be TWO locker rooms for the Army tonight!

Be Still Your Hearts, The Army Wins!
The Red Army surprised the hockey world with their 3rd victory of the season. The Army actually dominated in a 4-2 win over Gerrell's. "Anytime we win it is domination," said Len Boucher. The biggest surprise of the night was having both Bill Knipe and Todd Palmiscno score. "Those two haven't scored in the same game since the Reagan Administration," said staunch Republican, Kurt Comeau. The Army did suffer a loss last night when Chad Swendsied pulled a groin muscle on a back check. Sweeeny said, "What the hell am I doing back checking. We have a goalie to make a stop." "And our goalie made 10 saves on the night," said Lance Norman. Norman continued, "It is the most saves he had all year." The Win propels the Army to 3-8-2, bringing up the win percentage to .307. Next weeks game is at 8:15 at the Gambucci Arena against Caulfield's

Army vs Gerrell's
Tonight's game is at 8:00 at the GFBLC Arena vs Gerrell's. The Army is 2-8-2. So there isn't anything to write about. This team just sucks. Shawn McMillan said, "I thought we were worse than that. Sucks is good for this team." The only question about tonight's game will be: WILL LANCE NORMAN BE IN THE HOUSE. More importantly, will he be paying his fine for missing the last 3 weeks!
Thursday, January 31, 2013
A TIE
The Army gave up 2 late goals in the 3rd period (the 3rd goal with 11 seconds left) and surrendered what looked like a sure win against The Base only to tie 3 - 3. Eric Melland made his 1000th save of the year and could not be blamed for this one... but still was. Steve Knipe scored 2 goals on his first 2 shifts but his linemates (Marto & B. Knipe) could not muster up anything to give him the Hat Trick. "I busted my ass for 3 periods and those 2 cupcakes couldn't get me the puck!" quipped a hot Steve Knipe. The all Swedish line of Boucher, Comeau and McMillan (because they can't finish) had chance after chance but could not throw in that 4th goal that could've iced the game. McMillan did sneak one by the goalie in the 2nd but that was it. The Army was a little short as they had 2 forward lines and 3 defense. No Schumacher, Anderson, S. Palmiscno, Norman (2 cases next week) could be found. "They wouldn't have helped us anyway. I sit in my net and laugh at those ass clowns." said Melland. The Army now sits at something like 2-8-2 on the year. "We're the Devils Lake of the Huff N Puff League... sad." said a dejected Lenny Boucher. Next game will be posted soon, and lost shortly after that.

Palmiscno stoned late as Army losses again
It took an incredible save from the Acme goalie in the last 30 seconds to preserve their 4-3 win over the Red Army. Steve Palmiscno was standing on the door step. Goalie out of position. The only thing in the way of a sure tie (a victory when talking about the Army)was the goaltenders glove. And that is where the puck ended up. Palmiscno argued that the puck was across the line when the goalie caught it. But Derek Sheppard was right there to say no goal. Kurt Comeau said, "It was unbelievable that Palmo hit the glove. He has never hit that small of a target." The Army was leading 3-2 after two periods, but just couldn't hold on. Todd Schumacher was to say the least disgusted about the outcome. "I played two great periods. We are up 3-2. Then what does coach Paukert do. He sends me out and after the shift we are down 4-3." Schumacher continued, "I can only play 2 periods well. It might be the 1st and 2nd, 2nd or 3rd and so on. But Puakert has to know that. If I don't play we win!"
Wednesday, January 23, 2013
8:30 game time, too late for McMillan
The Red Army faces off against Acme tonight at 8:30 at the Purpur Arena. The Army will be without Shawn McMillan. McMillan has been hired to do some touch up work on the Mona Lisa. He was flown to Paris on Monday for this delicate job. Steve Olson said, "McMillan and delicate in the same sentence; it just doesn't sound right." The biggest question the Army faces is: Will they win game #3 on the season. "Hell No," said a disappointed Coach Paukert. "Unless we find a way to score some goals. Two wins will all we will have. None of the players disputed what the coach said. PLENTY of tickets available for tonight's game. Free Puke buckets will be given out to everyone in attendance. With the Way the Army plays, all in attendance will throw up!

Shutout!
The Red Army fell to 2-7-1 after losing 1-0 to the Buschwackers. Yes a 1-0 game in the Huff-n-Puff league. No one thought that only one goal would be scored between these 2 rivals. Lee Kahlbaugh of the Wackers finished with 55 saves. He stoned numerous chances late in the game as the Army had their goalie pulled. Jerry Lundby of the Wackers said, "The Army dominated us. They should of won. But our goalie kept us in it." Steve Olson said, "Our goalie ends with 27 saves, the 28th wasn't that hard of a shot." Steve Palmiscno said, "Without Marto in the lineup, we played so much better. We had better flow." The Army's best chance was in the first as Steve Knipe had the goalie down and out and hit the net. Too bad it was the netting above the glass. "I was 2 feet in front of the net and put the puck up 25 feet," said a disappointed Knipe. Shawn McMillan said, "If Schumacher was in that situation, he would have scored. He can't lift it!"

Army Losses 1-0
The Red Army lost 1-0. More on that later today. Next's week game is against Acme at 8:30 at the Purpur Arena. Make sure all the players take a nap, so you can stay up for the game.
Wednesday, January 16, 2013
Army vs Wackers, no more needs to be said
Huge game tonight! The 2-6-1 Army takes on their arch rival the Buschwackers. The Wackers beat the Army earlier in the year 5-2. The Army couldn't hold on to a 2-0 lead in that one. The Army was short handed in that one, as 3 of the regulars were on the shelf. "Having Marto and both Knipes probably won't help us tonight," said Shawn McMillan. McMillan continued, "We just suck!" The Army really has nothing to play for since Todd Schumacher scored last week. "He scored too early in the year," said Steve Palmiscno. "We play harder when he doesn't have a goal. I see a huge letdown tonight. We will be taking it out on Baron tonight!" Wacker Darrin Vatsandal added, "Can you take Flaagen out too!" Keith Anderson also stated, "We will pay the Army to take out Baron and Flaagen. Will a case of beer be enough." Bill Knipe answered, "YES". Game time is at 6:45 at the Eagles Arena. Make sure you eat after the so you don't throw up watching this mess!

Army gets crushed, But SCHUMACHER Scores!
The Red Army lost again last night 10-4 to the Broken Drum to drop to 2-6-1. The Army got goals from Kurt Comeau, Steve Palmiscno, Chad Swendseid, and TODD SCHUMACHER. That's right, Schumacher has extended his streak of at least one goal every year he has played. Mike Anderson said, "I couldn't believe it, he put it where Mamma keeps the the cookies. The Top Shelf." Perry Marto had a different take on the goal. "We will have to listen the Schumacher for the rest of the year. It will be a long rest of the season." Steve "Streak" Olson added, "We can't let him score, we need him to quit. I know if he doesn't score he will feel shame and never play again." Bill Knipe was mad at Steve Palmiscno. "Palmo was the one that passed it to Schumacher. He should have to bring beer the rest of the year for that mistake. " Schumacher humbly answered his critics by saying, "I'm just here to help the team win. Scoring isn't that important to me. I want to see the team do well." Shawn McMillan quipped, "That is a crock of $hit!" Can't wait til next Wednesday! The Army takes on the Bushwckers next Wednesday at 6:45 at the Eagles Arena.
Wednesday, January 9, 2013
Army will try to play again tonight
The Red Army takes on BBI at 7:15 at the Purpur Arena. Not much positive to say about a 2-5-1 team. Bill Knipe summed it up perfect, "If there is nothing good to write, don't write it." So with nothing good to write about this team, the update is over for now. Tomorrow will be much better!
Thursday, January 3, 2013
A new year, another loss
The Red Army dropped to 2-5-1 after last night's drubbing by Kelly's 6-1. The Army was still on the Christmas break when the game started. "We were a little flat," Said Perry Marto. Steve Palmiscno added, "The only thing flatter is a dead skunk on the Trans-Canada Highway!" The Army was without their coach Terry Paukert. Paukert is in Ufa, Russia looking for talent to bring into the Army. Paukert said via Skype, "I have watched every game over here. There is no one in this tourney that could even replace Norman. What is going on with hockey development in the world!" Steve Olson was the only Army player to score last night. His floating backhand alluded the Kelly's goalie mid way through the second period. It was the only highlight for the Army. Goaltender Eric Melland ended with 9 saves.
