Kelly's defeats Army 4-3

The Red Army played their most complete game of the year, but it wasn't good enough as they lost 4-3 to Kelly's bar. Goals by Lance Norman, Len Boucher and Steve "The Creator" Olson, wasn't enough for the Army. "We should win if those 3 guys score," said Coach Terry Paukert. "Our other players needed to step up and score a couple of goals. Shawn McMillan and Bill Knipe were non-factors." The Army played their best in the third, outshooting Kelly's 28-2, but couldn't get anything by the goalie. "It was the best I've seen the Army play in 5 years. I told the guys after the second period, 'if we don't give up any shots this period the worse we will do is tie the game (3-3 after 2 periods)," said an injured Steve Palmiscno. Goalie Josh Gilbertson quipped, "It is easy for Palmo to flap his lips when he isn't out there giving it his all. We had 12 guys busting their butts to try to win the game. Was he trying to be like Derek Anderson of the Arizona Cardinals." The loss dropped the Army to 0-3-2. Will next week bring the first win of the year? That question will be answered next week. I bet you can't wait!
